in 1915 for Pacific Steamship Co & ran between Seattle, S.F. & L.A. The
largest, fastest fanciest passenger ship on the Pacific Coast; part of the
Admiral Line. Named after the owner, H.F. Alexander. She was used by the
U.S. in TWO World Wars. Stats: 8255 tons, 509' long, 28 knots, & carried
559 passengers. It's amazing the stories we find with one simple artifact.
