Mining Safety Lamp - An incredibly detailed example of a brass miner's
safety style lamp (so-called because the flame is in a glass protected area).
The solid brass base has 4 columns above it surrounding a glass cylinder
that protects a red "flame" inside. Another 4 columns above it enclose the
wire mesh screen that allows air intake. A brass cap & wire. Could have
been worn as a pierced earring or a fob. Non-working, of course. 1 1/4"
