"Opium" Scales - A style reminiscent of portable scales used in early
mining & railroad camps where these men were laborers or in opium dens.
A paddle or fiddle shape dark hardwood body & a sliding brass catch. Hollowed
out inside for a bone balance beam with increment markings, 3 Chinese coins
pinned together & held by a string that slid over the beam, the coins used
