.38 cal., 6" brl side stamped "Colt D.A. 38". Perfect 2 line address. Over 95% original bright blue. Markings: "R.A.C." over grips & base of right grip, breech of cyl., cartouched on right grip. Butt stamped "U.S. Army Model 1896/No. 143XXX". Left grip "1900/J.T.T.". A "K" mark on cyl. latch, inside crane, bottom of brl. Colt assembly #'s in correct places. "P" on brl. bottom & cyl. breech. Only 9,500 of this model sold to U.S. Army. FFL needed (Cat. #17324)

First time on the market. All major parts have matching serial #'s. Loading gate has serial and assembly #'s. Hidden barrel, ejector housing #'s match. Original walnut grips retain 30% varnish; small chips at toes. Slightest corrosion (not pit) at muzzle of 8" barrel, address slightly weak, decent bore, 20-30% original blue turning brown. Gray cylinder has sharp scene. Case colors basically gray. Functions tight. Out of the woods with this original flap holster in solid VG condition. Part of a NJ maker's mark seen. Shipped to Dr. R.J. Gatling at his Hartford, CT gun factory. 12 ga., 30" damascus pattern barrels. Shows Colt address, a great pattern and slight carrying wear. Table shows proofs, inspectors and serial number marking. Forend has matching #. Hammers & receiver retain brilliant blue, tan case colors. Fine scroll, line engraving on major components. "Colt's Pt. F.A. Mfg. Co." engraved on side plates. Virtually full blue on triggerguard assembly. Deluxe pistol grip walnut stocks show minor field mars. Medallion engraved "RJG". Full hard rubber buttplate. Colt factory letter confirms shipment to Dr. Gatling, who, even today is a house- hold name in American lore.

98% original mirror blue. 5 1/2" barrel, 45 caliber. Sharp hard rubber grips. Brilliant blue on trigger & hammer (correct polished sides). Blue remains in chambers & a great bore. Virtually unused. A late example that utilized an overrun cyl. from the Philippine Constabulary contract. Retains the "R.A.C." & contract serial # (never renumbered for this gun). Correct & explained in Wilkerson's Model 1878 book on page #401. Another use for overrun '78  cyls. similar to the "Long Flute" SA's. Factory letter. FFL please.
